Spook-O-Ween

Well Spook-O-Ween 2012 has come and gone.  Its hard to believe it's already over.  We had so much fun and I honestly wouldn't have been able to pull it off with all of my AWESOME volunteers!!!  I can't go without saying how awesome the students did this year.  We set up boxes every year for candy donations and they exceeded, we had TONS of candy.
Thank you so much!!

I'll just give you the highlights of the night...

All the carnival games went over really well.

A few of my wonderful volunteers.
Kirsten Griffin (MSI), Kari Ransdell (MSII), Allison Johnston (MSII)

If they weren't entertained by the games we also had 2 JumpJumps set up.

Andrew (MSIII) got some cuddles from Miss Afton.

Lots of cool costumes!

One of our members, Jami Leavitt (MSI), was so gracious to set up a little station for everyone to get their picture taken.  She did a great job!!  You can see the photos here.

We missed some people, as they had already headed home, but here's a good bit of the SAA members who were there.
Such a fun night, can't wait till next year.  ;)

National Convention

As you may know this last week was the National Convention, in SAN DIEGO!  The convention was great and there's a lot that I could tell you about the trip, here are the highlights...

*The Scenery*

*The Food*

Kansas City BBQ, where the piano scene of Top Gun was filmed.

*The Entertainment*
Cool receptions with floating acrobats and live bands.

The Zoo!!

Joan Embery and her slew of animals.

*The Education*
Learning about being an advocate from the national level and sitting in on their meetings was a great experience.

*Extracurricular Activities*
Advocate Fun Run

*New Friends & Old*
Oh Walli...

After each SAA group gave their reports on what they're are doing to be advocates at their schools, we started exchanging ideas.  We then decided we would love to be able to do this throughout the year and thus decided to start a National SAA fanpage on facebook.  Check it out HERE.  Feel free to comment and join in the conversation.

ATOMS Luncheon

Thursday, we joined the ATOMS (Auxiliary for the Tulsa Osteopathic Medical Society) for their annual luncheon at Jan Calabrese's beautiful home.
Kristin Halsell, ATOMS President, started it off with a brief meeting.

Walli Daniels, AOOA President, presented Kristin with a leadership devotional before the festivities began to honor all of her hard work and great leadership.

Then, Donna Cannon took over with her amazing cooking abilities.
We had: Tomato Bisque, Salad w/ Balsamic Dressing, Stuffed Bell Peppers and Pumpkin Mousse Trifle.

Later she showed us how to make parmesan crisps. And Ryan Miller, one of our Manvocates, joined in to mold it into a bowl.  =)

OSU-COM's SAA had a great turn out.
Top & Left->Right: Crystal, Kimberly, Brittany, Amanda, Britney, Janelle, Apryl, Joy

Lots of hormones were drifting around the house with these three glowing/growing ladies.

Thank you ATOMS for the invitation, Jan Calabrese for opening your home and Donna Cannon for a fantastic meal!!!
