ATOMS Luncheon

Thursday, we joined the ATOMS (Auxiliary for the Tulsa Osteopathic Medical Society) for their annual luncheon at Jan Calabrese's beautiful home.

Kristin Halsell, ATOMS President, started it off with a brief meeting.

Walli Daniels, AOOA President, presented Kristin with a leadership devotional before the festivities began to honor all of her hard work and great leadership.

Then, Donna Cannon took over with her amazing cooking abilities.

 We had: Tomato Bisque, Salad w/ Balsamic Dressing, Stuffed Bell Peppers and Pumpkin Mousse Trifle.

Later she showed us how to make parmesan crisps. And Ryan Miller, one of our Manvocates, joined in to mold it into a bowl.  =)

OSU-COM's SAA had a great turn out.

Lots of hormones were drifting around the house with these three glowing/growing ladies.

Playgroup

Last week's playgroup was at my house with a pretty good turn out.

This week we were at Joy's.  I was only there briefly so I don't have any pictures, but we had some new faces.  I love when we get to meet new people!!  =)  Thank you Joy for hosting.

*Be looking on the wall for next week's playgroup evite for a time for story time at the Disney Store!

*Also be watching the wall for info on the family picnic on Saturday.  Crystal will update based on the weather situation.

Maghin Abernathy spoke to us on IRAA. Thank you Maghin for sharing your time and all the great info you provided!

*Thanks to everyone who brought food to the school for the students! They loved it!!

*Everyone who signed up to help for Thanksgiving Dinner look out on FB. Joy will post a time and place to meet and go over duties for that day.

*ATOMS luncheon will be Sept 20 @ 11:30. It will be held at Jan Calabrese's house. There is no child care.

*I will be updating the contact list and sending that out within the next week so if you haven't updated your info or filled out a Membership form please do so and turn that in.


*If anyone has requests for different playgroup times please get with Jessica. (Possible playgroup times discussed 9:30a, 12:30p, 3:30p.) The playgroups that are scheduled will not be changed.

Upcoming Events:

*Playgroup at Janelle's house Friday Sept 7th at 10:30. Don't forget to check fb for all playgroups.

*Couples Date is this Sat. Sept 8th. Ice Skating at the Oiler's Rink from 2-4 and then coffee at Stonewood Cafe in B.A. Please R.S.V.P. on fb. (the invite is there)

*The Family Picnic is Sept 15th. Woodward Park at 11am. Don't forget your lunches.

*VP luncheon Sept 22nd. Veterans Park in Jenks at 11:30.

The next meeting will be Tuesday Oct. 2nd at 6:30pm. Hope to see you all there.

Committees

*VP BBQ will be September 22 and we need a couple of people to help set up and clean. If anyone has any lawn games please let us know if we can use them. You may contact Joy or Allison.

*Oktoberfest will be October 17-19 and we need volunteers for the parking lot Wednesday through Friday. The shifts will be 4 hour shifts and you will need to be up at the school by 4pm, if you cannot make the full 4 hrs that’s fine just let us know what you can do. If you have kids and would like to help but, you don’t have childcare you may volunteer to watch the children of those who also don’t have childcare. You would be inside at the school.

*Sppok-O-Ween will be October 26. We need help setting up and cleaning up as well as manning booths. Allow 3 hours for set and there will be 6 different booths. If you volunteer at a booth you would be explaining the games and handing out candy.

*Thanksgiving-Date TBD. We will have pot luck desserts. You can contact me Britney R if you would like to bring a dessert.

Upcoming Events

*There will no longer be emails going out about the playdates. Jessica will post the playdate information on facebook every week. There is a correction on two of the dates: Oct. 5 will be at Bounce-U and Nov. 2 will be at Jessica’s house.

*Snack Day for the students will be Tuesday September 4(first round of tests). If you would like to bring something that would be great, just make sure you have it at the school be noon. If you want to send it with your student that will be fine. You can bring meat trays, veggie trays, fruit, etc.

*Couples Day out will be Saturday September 8 at the Oilers Ice Arena from 12 to 4 and we’ll go for coffee after. Another fun way to get to know everyone!

*Family Day out will be September 15. Afternoon picnic at Woodward Park. 21^st between Utica and Peoria.

The next meeting will be September 4 @ 6:30. We will have a quick over view of upcoming events and then a guest speaker. Maghin Abernathy on IRAA.

Drillers Game

Last night we got a group together to watch the Drillers play on $2 Tuesday.

The kids had a blast.

We also had a pretty good size group show up.

We have a meeting tomorrow night at 6:30.  If you're wanting to get involved this is the meeting to be at.  We'll have committees for you to join if you're wanting to help with some of our fall events so please try to come.  It will be at the school in Merkel Auditorium, Rm#CHSD007. 

(Come in at the entrance by the security desk so they can let you in.)

Playgroup {Pool Party}

Monday, was our first playgroup and we made it a family affair.  Thanks Jessica arranging this, it was a blast!!

A few of us stuck around to play on the playground before heading home.

Meet N' Greet

Last Friday was our annual Meet N' Greet. 

We were ready for all the new members with packets, pens, name tags and membership forms.

We also sold some of our t-shirts.  If you're still wanting one message me on facebook or email me.

We love to mingle!!

The kids had a blast as well.

*BUNCO TIME*

This was a first for a lot of people but I think it went great.  We had questions set up for each round and all these girls love to talk, so getting to know each other wasn't a problem.

A big thanks to the Alumni Office for the AWESOME prize bags and Ryan Miller for being the MC for the night!!

Apryl and Allison were the winning team.

Allison also won the most Buncos, which included the the bag and a P.F. Changs giftcard. She got the giftcard and we needed to have a face off for the final bag.

The "Bunc-Off" between Kirsten and Jessica for the 2nd most Buncos.

Congratulations Jessica! 

A few people had to head out early but we still had a pretty good size group at the end of the night.

So glad we had such a good turn out and I can wait for the rest of the year!!
